Well, we’re almost halfway through the NFL season and the AFC East boasts the team in the entire NFL with the best record. The Patriots may not look pretty doing it, but they have run out to a 6-1 record thus far in 2010. The Jets and Dolphins are close behind and the Bills…well, they’re looking at 2011 and starting to scout the Draft Class for April.
New England Patriots 6-1
The Pats allowed the Minnesota Vikings to stay close for a good portion of the game on Sunday. In the end, the finished off Brett Favre and improved to 6-1. Things look to get a little easier before they get harder for the Pats as they head to Cleveland to take on the Browns this Sunday. Cleveland is coming off a bye week and their most recent game was a win against the Saints. The Pats would be wise not to look past the Browns, but in the end they should pick up the win.
New York Jets 5-2
The Jets scored as many points this week against the Packers as they did in their bye week, the week before; ZERO. The Jets dropped out of first place and will look to beat up on the Lions this weekend in Detroit. The Lions are coming off a win against the Redskins that saw them put up 37 points, while welcoming Matthew Stafford back. Like the Pats, the Jets had better not sleep on the Lions this week.
Miami Dolphins 4-3
Rebounding after the fumblegate fiasco against the Steelers, the Dolphins played a solid 60 minutes against the Bengals this past Sunday. They improved to 4-0 on the road with the victory and will now head to Baltimore to take on the rested Ravens. The Ravens are coming off a bye and are going to be one of the toughest, most physical tests for the Dolphins this season. If the Dolphins hope to improve to 5-3, they will need to bring their A game this week.
Buffalo Bills 0-7
The Bills played last week and again took a team to overtime. Again, however, they fell short, losing to the Chiefs on an overtime field goal. The Bills are likely sending scouts to check out the top QB prospects in the draft and thinking of 2011. They will likely have a top 5 pick, if not number 1 overall. This week, however, they take on the Chicago Bears at home. Give them credit, this team fights throughout the game, but they just don’t have enough talent to beat teams that are better than them.
