Dolphins Jonathan Martin is AWOL, entered treatment facility
As if the Miami Dolphins didn’t have enough to worry about heading into their game Thursday night against the 6-2 Bengals, now this: Jay Glazer of FoxSports.com is reporting that Martin is AWOL and has entered a treatment facility.
It is unknown what type of treatment facility he has entered at this time. The Dolphins have no publicly commented on the situation, but have listed Martin as ‘doubtful’ for Thursday night’s game. Martin will be replaced by Tyson Clabo at right tackle. (speaking of Clabo, check out what the Dolphins new right tackle will be dressing up like for Halloween, here)
Apparently Martin’s departure happened on Monday when teammates jokingly said they wouldn’t sit with him at the team’s practice facility in Davie, FL. Martin supposedly ‘flipped out’, smashed his food tray on the ground and took off.
There was a rumor floating around that Martin was not actually sick, but had a disagreement with Mike Sherman and simply walked out. Jay Glazer shot down that report, saying it was inaccurate.
This report of Martin going AWOL comes on the heels of Jeff Darlington’s report that some Dolphins players are questioning the offensive game plan and play calling. I think it’s safe to say that the Dolphins are in complete disarray at this point and it’s hard to feel confident about tomorrow night’s game at this point. (continued on page 2, CLICK HERE)
