The Miami Dolphins play of late is not going unnoticed. 2 weeks ago, Matt Moore won the FedEx Air Player of the Week award, following his excellent play against the Chiefs. Moore has followed that performance up with 2 solid games against the Redskins and Bills. In fact, Moore’s performance in the Dolphins win on Sunday against the Bills has earned him another nomination. Moore led the Dolphins offense with an efficient day Sunday, going 14 of 20 for 160 yards and 3 TDs 0 INTs. Moore’s solid play of late has had some questioning whether or not he can be the Dolphins QB of the future. We disagree and think this is all WAY too premature, but we’re glad to see him playing well. To vote for Moore, you can go to NFL.com here.
Surprisingly, the Dolphins also had another player nominated for a weekly award. This week, Charles Clay has been nominated for the Pepsi Rookie of the Week Award. Clay caught 4 balls for the Dolphins against the Bills, for 69 yards and a TD. Clay is a versatile tight end/full back and has showed flashes of potential. The Lockout certainly slowed Clay’s adjustment to the NFL, but he’s been making his presence known of late. You can vote for the Dolphins rookie TE at NFL.com here.
Congratulations to both Matt Moore and Charles Clay for being nominated. Recently, the Dolphins haven’t had many players even nominated for these types of awards, so this is encouraging. We wish them both luck and hope they continue to improve in 2011 as both will likely return to the Dolphins in 2012.
