The Miami Dolphins have been trying to build up anticipation for the launch of their new logo. Mike Dee, the Dolphins CEO announced yesterday on Twitter that the Dolphins would unveil the team’s new logo on April 18th, a week before the NFL Draft. Then, tonight we learned that the Dolphins would wait until April 25th for the grand unveiling. Well, Armando Salguero of the Miami Herald ruined the Dolphins surprise tonight when he wrote this blog post.
In Armando’s post, he reports that sources within the Dolphins have confirmed that the leaked logo from last week is in fact the Dolphins new logo. This logo was leaked by someone on Instagram and quickly circulated throughout the internet. In fact, this is the same logo that our friends at DolfansNYC.com told us about back in December. Here’s a link to their site and a picture of the logo they leaked back then:
I’ve been amazed at how much buzz the Dolphins new logo has generated on Twitter. It seems like everyday for the last 2-3 months, we’ve sen discussions about the logo. There have been a number of renderings circulating on the internet, but it appears that the mystery has been solved. I will be interested to see what the new uniforms look like, but as Armando points out, the Dolphins plan to return to their historic colors of aqua and orange. (cont’d on page 2, click here)
