Dolphins players questioning offensive play calling
Yes, the Dolphins gave up the lead late in the 3rd quarter. BUT, from the time in the 2nd half when they were leading 17-3 to the point when the Patriots tied the game, the Dolphins ran the ball 6 times and threw the ball 11 times. Why in the hell would you abandon the run like this, especially when the Patriots ranked #31 in rush defense entering that game? I can’t blame the players for questioning Sherman. CAN SOMEONE PLEASE WAKE UP MIKE SHERMAN!!! Seriously, there are points in the game where I have this exact thought (sorry for the language, but it’s true):
It’s really sad that a coach with as much experience as Sherman could be so stubborn. I know he was Joe Philbin’s English teacher and the two of them go way back, but if Philbin has any hope of saving this season, he needs to bring Sherman in for a meeting with his leather chair.
So please, Coach Sherman, if you’re reading this (you’re not), please get a little more creative on offense….please stick with the running game, especially when it’s working……and please stop being so stubborn. If not, you may continue to lose games and ultimately the locker room.
The fact that myself, all of you readers on PhinNation AND the players are questioning the offensive play calling and game plan, should be a hint. I mean, it’s not like it’s working! The Dolphins have lost 4 straight games. Granted, most of them were close games, but something has to change. If nothing changes and the season continues on the course it’s on, there may be changes to the coaching staff……
