Dolphins road-map to the playoffs isn’t easy, but it’s possible

The Miami Dolphins are 2-3 and should have one thing on their mind this week: Beating the St. Louis Rams and getting to 3-3 going into their bye week.  That’s it.  If any Dolphins players are reading this (they’re probably not), please disregard this blog post and immediately click here to get ready for Sunday’s game.

For those of you non-Dolphins players that are still here, I want to discuss the Dolphins road-map to the playoffs.  I know, I know, the Dolphins are under .500 and we’re not even 1/3 of the way through the season.  I KNOW!  BUT, it’s never too early to start looking ahead at what could be.  Heck, if Dan Carpenter makes the overtime field goal against the Jets and if Kevin Kolb throws incomplete on 4th and 10, the Dolphins could be 4-1 right now.  If the Dolphins were 4-1, we’d probably be talking about making a push for the playoffs right now, wouldn’t we?  Cue Jim Mora……

But here we are, the Dolphins are 2-3, tied with the Bills and Jets for 2nd place in the AFC East.  The mighty Patriots are only 1 game ahead at 3-2.  The Dolphins are still ‘in it’ for the AFC East race and quite frankly, I think they are the second best team in the AFC East because the Jets and the Bills are not good and are sinking fast.  I highly doubt that the Dolphins will catch the Patriots because the Patriots offense looks pretty damn good right now.  (cont’d on page 2, click below)
