Dolphins sign Jabar Gaffney, release Legedu Naanee

According to observers, Naanee had a solid training camp and impressed Dolphins coaches.  He was the Dolphins #2 wide receiver, while Brian Hartline recovered from his calf injury.  Hartline took over once he returned, but Naanee was still listed as the #3 receiver in Sunday’s game against the Cardinals.  Now he’s gone.  And I can’t get this song out of my head:  Na Na Na Na, Na Na Na Na, Ne Ne Ne, Goooood-bye

Gaffney is a solid signing by the Dolphins and it probably would’ve happened sooner if he was healthy at the start of the season.  Gaffney was cut by the Patriots in the preseason because of a thigh injury.  No one knows for sure how healthy he is now, but I’d imagine he already passed the Dolphins physical for them to announce the signing.

Last year with the Redskins, Gaffney caught 68 balls for 947 yards and 5 TDs.  The Dolphins are desperately hoping he can step in and be the third receiving target the Dolphins offense has lacked this season.  It will take Gaffney time to learn the playbook.  BUT, if he’s healthy, I suspect the Dolphins will give him a small number of plays to learn by Sundays game against the Bengals.  I believe, if he’s healthy, he’ll make the trip to Cincinnati.  Don’t worry, he’s already picked a jersey number and it’s not the cursed #19….Gaffney will wear #10 for the Dolphins.

Its about damn time!!!!! Finally Jeff Ireland steps up to a obvious mistake and corrects it. Nanee was a bum, C’mon!! Damn shame he still gets his $$$ for doing didlly ?!@* I like Gaffney, hopefully between he and Armstrong we can get the wideout position solidified. What they need to do is get Egnew into shape and roll out Charles “No Show” Clay. I liked Clay but he is not getting it done. Fasano needs help, he’s solid but can’t stretch the field from the TE spot. $hit, if Egnew can’t do it bring back Les Brown for peace sake at least he was fast enough and could catch the ball. If his blocking was the only issue, I’m sure Dan Campbell can help him with that. And last but not least, Please Ireland! Fricking please get Daniel Thomas some balls so he can stop playing like a biatch!! Let Lamar Miller take the 2nd RB slot because Thomas is trash! Sorry but he gotta go too……

Tannehill still has me in awe for last games performance barring the picks, but he needs reliable weapons at his disposal. He’s reminding me, don’t want to jinx it of Dan the Man! Just a little bit! Lets hope he continues to fit that mold!!!

    As always, Fins up!!!!

How about the acoountant, Les Brown…? He could catch, he just couldn’t block and had the build of a high school player but… good hands, good hands people..Legadont Na…na… na na, na na na na hey hey good bye… You know what? I actually feel bad for the guy and how much fun we’re having at his expense… I wonder if he’ll join another team cath everything in sight, and burn us whe we play them for like 200 passing yards… Karma you know.

Armstrong is another player who can’t catch. That,s why the skins let him go.And as fast as Les Brown is As tall as he is as sure handed as his why not use him as a wide out.Just wondering?

I WAS HOPING THEY WOULD HAVE DONE THAT ON HARD KNOCKS!!!!!!

      • joe

WHY NOT BRING BACK CHAD JOHNSON!!!!!! THERE ARE PLAYERS WHO HAVE DONE ALOT WORSE AND STILL PLAYING!!!!!

  • phinfan4sure

Good Question Brewbear! I second that!!! We’re thin at WR, move Les to wideout he would be a great redzone option with his size and athleticism.
