Here’s a fun fact: Last week, while inactive for the game, Gaffney contributed just about as much to the Dolphins offense as Legedu Naanee did the previous 4 games. If healthy, I think Gaffney can help the Dolphins offense, giving Tannehill another reliable receiver who can….ya know….CATCH THE FOOTBALL! Gaffney is confident that he’ll play on Sunday and all signs point to him being active and involved in the game plan.
[UPDATE 10/14/12 @ 11:30am] The Dolphins just released their inactives and Gaffney is on that list, so he will not play against the Rams.
– Starting cornerback Richard Marshall missed practice for the second time this week and it’s unlikely he’ll be able to play on Sunday. If Marshall can’t go, Nolan Carroll will again get the start. Carroll, by the way, was limited in practice because of a lingering Achilles injury.
– Reggie Bush was limited in practice, resting his knee for Sunday. Daniel Thomas was diagnosed with his second concussion this season and did not practice. It’s unlikely that Thomas will play and he could be out for a longer period of time. Lamar Miller, the Dolphins 4th round pick in 2012, will backup Reggie Bush this week. Miller has played a limited role in the Dolphins offense the last 2 weeks because he was still not familiar enough with the playbook. He seems to have a better grasp now.
– The Dolphins game Sunday was in danger of being blacked out this weekend, however the Dolphins announced on Thursday that the game will be shown on local television and will not be blacked out. This is obviously good news, especially considering the Dolphins will be honoring Jason Taylor and Zach Thomas, inducting them into the Ring of Honor.
