Latest news on Tannehill’s injury & status for Dolphins game on Sunday

I think if Tannehill practices again on Friday, he’ll be the starter on Sunday.  However, I do think the Dolphins are probably getting Matt Moore some work with the starters after practice closes to the media.  It is important for the Dolphins coaches to get Matt Moore work, just in case Tannehill re-injures his left leg or if he experiences swelling issues after practice or from the flight to Indianapolis.

UPDATE 3:30PM: Jason Cole just tweeted the following, throwing Tannehill’s availability on Sunday into question:

Other notes:

– Olivier Vernon was named AFC Special Teams Player of the Week.  Vernon blocked a Nick Folk field goal attempt and recovered Jimmy Wilson’s blocked punt in the end zone for a touchdown.

– Cameron Wake was named AFC Defensive Player of the Month for the month of October.  Wake had 3 sacks in October and has 7.5 sacks on the season.  Wake and JJ Watt fo the Texans might be battling it out for Defensive Player of the Year honors.

– Tony McDaniel returned to practice, but only did individual work with the Dolphins trainer. Richard Marshall missed practiced again and is not expected to play this weekend against the Colts.

– Entering Sunday’s game, the Colts are pretty banged up.  DE Dwight Freeney, LB Pat Angerer, LB Jerrell Freeman, CB Vontae Davis, and TE Colby Fleener did not practice on Wednesday for the Colts.  CB Darius Butler and DE Richard Mathis practiced on a limited basis.
