Manning to Miami takes to the streets as Dolphins fans post billboard ad

Give Miami Dolphins fans credit….we’re passionate fans!  Remember the banner that flew above Sun Life Stadium before the season finale against the Jets?  The one that called for Stephen Ross to fire Jeff Ireland?  You remember!  The latest public display comes in the form of a billboard on 595.  The website ManningToMiami sponsored the below billboard to show how much they want Peyton Manning to come to Dolphins:

From what we can gather, more Dolphins fans would prefer that the Dolphins sign Matt Flynn and forego the injury risk that Peyton Manning would bring.  Especially considering Peyton hasn’t been throwing the ball more than 25 yards, it’s hard to argue.  But still, there is a portion of the fan base that is holding out hope that the Dolphins will sign Peyton Manning and he will regain his Hall of Fame form.  I think every Dolphins fan out there would sign for Peyton Manning today if he was going to be 100% healthy.

As we’ve said before, if you are going to get Peyton Manning, you need an insurance policy beyond Matt Moore.  We think that the Dolphins should select a young QB in the draft (say, the 2nd round, like Tannehill if he lasts that long) to develop behind Manning.  Best Case Scenario, Manning will play another 3 years, maybe 4 if you’re lucky.  Then, you have a QB that is ready to step in and has learned from a Hall of Fame QB.

He is still currently a Colt. I find this blatant courting of #18 horrifying!!!!! But, if he goes, my family will still be Colts fans; however, we will be crying in our Wheaties from our special edition box featuring Peyton Manning. (And secretly rooting for Miami)

NO MANNING IN MIAMI!!! Wait to get Flynn here!!!

Miami has no shame. First the “Suck for Luck” Campaign, now this? Give me a break.

With our drafting, just trade picks…2 first rounders could be jamar fletcher and tedd ginn for what we do. Ante up for luck.

Enough is enough…first “Suck for Luck” and now “Manning to Miami”…both concepts are silly. Everybody assumed Mr. Luck would want to play for an (at the time) 0 – 7 team; he could have pulled a John Elway and threatened another sport to go to a better team. Manning to Miami is even sillier; he will never be 100% and we would lose valuable time that could be better served developing a younger quarterback…does anyone remember the Namath fiasco in Los Angles or the Montana debacle in KC and more recently Bret Farve’s contribution to the QB issues in Minnesota and New York? I challenge anyone to historically show a case where a QB released after an injury has helped a team get better. And as for we the Miami fans looking for another Marino; silly and disappointing as well…he was a once in a lifetime QB. As for Mr. Ross looking for a young Shula…the same could be said. Moore is a better QB than most think and with an offensive line, a solid number 2 receiver, and some coaching he can get the job done.

we have been trying to develop a young qb ever since Marino left and look how that worked. Farve took Minn. to the nfc championship game a lot further then we have been in a long time. We passed on breese because they were not sure about him and look how that turned out. Lets not forget Wayne will want to go where manning goes.

I don’t mean to be rude but since nothing was mentioned about the surgery between 2 and 3 last summer ( until a couple of weeks ago ), which makes it 4 surgeries now, I think that makes Peyton more of a wheelchair risk on a good solid blindside hit he will receive. He is going to have to be honest with himself about his health and future. He has had a good career made money and still making it on commercials, so why risk it. Help some young QB build a future. Miami doesn’t need him, Matt Moore did fine and will continue to do well. With a few good picks on the O line and a receiver. Pick up a QB in later rounds and develop him for the future. Most of the good ones don’t come out of the first two rounds anyway.

Way to go Miami!!! People say our fans suck.. Well now look, They stepped up to the plate.. I like it lots!!!! 25yrs season tix holder..:o)

Jeff Ireland, Bobby is right! Give up the picks for one of the top 2 quarterbacks. And you manning fans please shut-up and stay out of the sun…It’s bad y’all. Manning had his day and is going the hall of fame. But he’s a human being who does not need to end up in a wheel chair. The steelers traded up for big Ben. Let’s see what miami will do. Hopefully, their homework and something smart.
