Miami Musings, our weekly tour around other popular Miami Dolphins blogs, is back! We plan to bring feature to you each week as part of our posting schedule. This week, we check in on some Dolphins’ roster moves via ThePhinsider.com, examine what Ryan Tannehill needs to do to learn to lead the Dolphins via DolphinShout.com, and take an early look at how the Dolphins matchup with the Raiders via PhinsPhocus.com .
This evening, the Dolphins made a few roster moves. Most notably, the Dolphins released Chris Hogan, he of the Hard Knocks stardom. Coaches grew tired of waiting for Hogan to be more physical. The Dolphins also waived LB Sammy Brown and signed WR Brian Tyms and DT Chas Alecxih to the practice squad. Right now, the Dolphins have 52 players on their roster, with 1 free spot remaining.
Tannehill must learn from mistakes
Patrick over at DolphinShout.com makes the case that Ryan Tannehill played better on Sunday than 3 of the other 4 rookie quarterbacks. This, despite the fact that Tannehill threw 3 interceptions. I agree with Patrick on this point. Patrick goes on to explain that Tannehill must learn not to stare down his receivers. As he points out, some QB’s can improve on this and some never do. The QBs that can improve and look off defenders, are the ones that last for years in the NFL.
Do the Dolphins match up well with the Raiders?
PhinsPhocus.com takes a look at how the Dolphins match up against the Raiders compared to the Texans. The Dolphins fought the Super Bowl contending Texans for 28 minutes….then the wheels fell off. Getting the Raiders, at home, on a short week, is an advantage for the Dolphins. And right now, neither the Raiders offense or defense could be mistaken for the Texans!
Sure, why not? The President took a turn kicking the Dolphins earlier today. It was a pretty harmless jab, but it shows that even the most powerful man on Earth can take some time out of his day to poke fun at our beloved Dolphins!
