Miami Musings: Breaking down Tannehill’s day, Dolphins momentum, and an early big board

The Miami Dolphins are flying high after their blowout win against the Raiders on Sunday.  Dolphins fans are buzzing and it’s very obvious that it is in fact, Jets week!  The Dolphins will host the Jets on Sunday and will look to improve to 2-1 and hold at least a share of the AFC East lead.  Before we get to Sunday though, our tour around other Dolphins blogs has some interesting topics:  A full breakdown of the Dolphins dismantling of the Raiders, an early look at possible Dolphins draft targets, keys to success against the Jets, and a chance to win a signed copy of ‘Perfection’.

Breaking down the Dolphins win – FinsNation.com

The Dolphins played evenly with the Raiders on Sunday, until the second half when they stepped on the gas peddle and let Reggie Bush have a monster day.  In this post, CK Parrot does a great job of breaking down what the Dolphins did so well in the second half of the game that helped the Dolphins blowout the Raiders.  I love his critique of Ryan Tannehill, CK knows his stuff and is as good as it gets when breaking down film.  It’s an in-depth look at the Dolphins that you won’t regret reading.

Momentum? – DolphinShout.com

The Dolphins found a way to bounce back from their loss against the Texans in week 1.  Let’s face it, they were overmatched by the Texans.  But, if the Dolphins can find a way to keep the momentum going against the Jets, they could set themselves up for a decent season.  The guys at DolphinShout give us a couple of reasons as to why the Dolphins should have success against the Jets.  Number one, will be their ability to run the football….Run Reggie Run! I have been ranting like a lunatic about a possible nightmare situation which would include Sparano and Teabow teaming together to present Miami with a little nasty wild cat surprise… while they go with no huddle on us…. everyone seems to be overly concerned with what the Phins must do on offence… this raving fan just wants us to look out for the man from Jacksonville and make the necessary adjustments right then and there, because of the go hurry up on us, we may not gat another chance to substitute.

Jules – I agree with you. Tebowmania started last year in Miami and I’m worried this game might be the start of it again. The Dolphins run defense has to maintain their rush lanes and make tackles when they have the opportunity to. I could also envision the Jets using 4 wide receiver sets and no huddle to take advantage of the Dolphins pass defense. I don’t feel as comfortable with this game as I did last week!
