Pitiful Picks: Can the Dolphins stop their skid?

The Miami Dolphins look to stop their streak of overtime losses.  Two weeks ago, the Dolphins lost to the lousy stinking Jets in overtime.  Last week, the Dolphins lost to the Cardinals in overtime after squandering a 7 point lead with less than a minute left.  This week, the Dolphins travel to Cincinnati to take on the 3-1 Bengals.  Unlike the Dolphins, we were able to rebound from a terrible week 3 that left our Pitiful Picks record at 4-5.  Last week we swept the board, going 4-0 and bringing our season record to 8-5.  Let’s hope we can keep the momentum going this week:

Baltimore Ravens -6.5 over Kansas City Chiefs

The Ravens are good, the Chiefs are not.  I’m not sure if any other reason will beat that one!  The Ravens are one of the  NFL’s best teams and their offense should be able to move the ball against the Chiefs.  I think the Ravens defense will try to stop the Chiefs ground attack and force Matt Cassel to beat them.  I don’t think he can.  Actually, I don’t think the Chiefs will be able to keep this game within a touchdown.  Ravens 27 – Chiefs 17

Cleveland Browns +8 over New York Giants

I don’t love  this pick, but it’s a gut feeling.  The Giants are coming off of an emotional loss to the Eagles on Sunday Night Football.  And the Giants could get caught looking ahead to their big game next week at San Francisco.  The Browns, meanwhile, played last Thursday, so they’ve had a little extra time to prepare.  The Browns have a good defense and as long as Brandon Weeden doesn’t turn the ball over numerous times, they should be able to keep it close.  New York Giants 20 – Browns 13
