Pitiful Picks: Dolphins may be resting, but not us!

Houston Texans -7 over Baltimore Ravens

I know, 7 points is a huge number to give up in this game.  But, the Ravens are missing a number of defensive starts, including Ray Lewis.  The Ravens also have some trouble stopping the running game on defense.  For this reason, I think Arian Foster will have a big day for the Texans.  I also think the Texans will be looking for blood after being embarrassed on Sunday Night Football last week against the Packers. This game features the only 2 AFC teams that are over .500 and should be a good game.  I just think the Texans are healthier, hungrier, and have the better offense and defense.  Texans 30 Ravens 20

Buffalo Bills -3 over Tennessee Titans

The Bills shocked a lot of people, not only by beating the Cardinals last week IN Arizona, but by limiting the Cardinals offense to just 16 points.  The Bills defense has given up 48, 45, and 52 points in their losses.  In their wins, they’ve given up 16, 17, and 14 points.  I don’t think the Titans offense is going to outscore anyone in a shootout, which is why I’m taking the Bills.  Although, the Titans will be able to run the ball, since the Bills defense has given up the most rushing yards om the NFL, I just don’t think they’ll be able to do enough in Buffalo throwing the ball.  Bills 20 Titans 16

New England Patriots -10.5 over New York Jets

The Patriots are pissed off and I think they’ll take out their aggression on a Jets team that is no where near as talented.  The Jets beat a made to order Colts team last week, but are they really that good?  The Patriots lost another close game, blowing a 13 point 4th quarter lead to the Seahawks last week.  The Patriots have now lost 3 games by a TOTAL of 4 points.  I just don’t see how the Jets are going to slow down Tom Brady AND the Patriots running attack.  I also don’t think Mark Sanchez can have back to back solid games.  If you haven’t heard, Tim Tebow is going to take some snaps at running back……at running back…….running back…..seriously.  Gotta love Tony Sparano!  I think the Patriots, at home, will be looking to send a message and the Jets will just happen to be the victim.  Patriots 38 Jets 17

So, if my picks hold up, the Dolphins will be dropped out of first place in the AFC East and will fall into 3rd, 1/2 game behind the Patriots and Bills, but 1/2 game in front of the Jets.  I’ll be rooting against my Bills pick and quite honestly I’ll probably be rooting against the Patriots too because if the Jets are the only AFC East victorious this week, the Dolphins will have a chance to take sole possession of the AFC East next week when they travel to New Jersey to play the Jets.  We’ll see what happens, enjoy the games!
