What I didn’t like
Pass Defense – It’s hard to like the pass defense that allowed Russell Wilson to score a QB rating of 125. The Dolphins did sack Wilson a couple of times, but they still need to do a better job of generating pressure. The Dolphins also allowed the Seahawks to complete 7 of 14 3rd down attempts. The pass defense must tighten up because Tom Brady and all of his weapons are coming to Miami next week.
1st-3rd Quarter Offense – The Dolphins offense started clicking in the 4th quarter….but why did it take so long? The Dolphins looked inept through 3 quarters and if they want to win consistently, they need to become more consistent on offense throughout the game. Some of that falls on Tannehill, but it also falls on his wide receivers, running backs, and offensive line. In the first half, the Seahawks generated a lot of pressure on Tannehill, causing him to rush throws and take some big hits.
Overall, this was a great team win for the Dolphins who ended their 3 game losing streak. What’s frustrating is that they are 1 game out of the Wild Card spot (behind the Steelers and Bengals). If they could have won 1-2 of those games against sub-par teams, they could be in the driver’s seat. Instead, they’ll have to win games against teams that will be favored against them. It all starts on Sunday when Tannehill gets to go toe to to with Tom Brady. Hopefully the Dolphins defense can keep it close and allow Tannehill to work his magic in the 4th quarter.
