Dolphins have ‘Shermanated’ their offensive coordinator
Ben McAdoo. Google him. Go for it, I’ll wait. If McAdoo doesn’t excite you, then you and I are thinking alike. I think the Dolphins next offensive coordinator should be someone with offensive coordinator experience. McAdoo may be a fine coach, he was the tight ends coach in Green Bay for 6 years before becoming the QB coach the last 2 seasons. Tough to gauge his coaching ability the last 2 years when he had arguably the best player in the NFL starting for him.
Is this the end of the changes? I doubt it. I suspect that the new offensive coordinator might want to bring in some of his assistants. Jim Turner (O-Line coach) and Zach Taylor (QB coach) may be the next coaches to find the door. As I said, Joe Philbin is safe, but no word on Jeff Ireland. It is quite possible that the Dolphins will enter 2014 with Joe Philbin as their head coach, Jeff Ireland as their GM, and an offensive coordinator to be named later. No word at all about defensive coordinator Kevin Coyle either, who’s unit regressed further in the 2013 season. A lot of things could still change, all we can do is monitor the situation and keep you posted as we get more news. Stay tuned….
