Updated Dolphins Mock Draft – Will they go OL in the 1st round?
With the 16th pick in the 4th round, the Miami Dolphins select:
Tom Savage, Quarterback, Pittsburgh
At 6’4″ he has the size as well as excellent arm strength that you look for. Oh, and he throws a better deep ball than Tannehill which is an important factor in an offense whose best player is Mike Wallace.
With the 15th pick in the 5th round, the Miami Dolphins select:
Michael Sam, Outside Linebacker, Missouri
The man won the SEC defensive player of the year award. He is a bit on the small side for a defensive end, but so is Olivier Vernon. The team could experiment with him at outside linebacker. Sam is very underrated and a steal at this point in the draft.
With the 14th pick in the 6th round, the Miami Dolphins select:
Colt Lyerla, Tight End, Oregon
Character concerns may have him off of the Miami Dolphins draftboard altogether, but at 6’4″, with good hands and 4.47 speed, I am taking my chances. He has all-pro skills at a position of need.
The 7th rounder that went to Baltimore for McKinnie will not be missed because they will get a head start at calling potential undrafted free agents.
